Mining Operations Technician
(U.S.-Based | Data Center Operations)
Position Summary
We are seeking a Mining Operations Technician to support the day-to-day operation and monitoring of mining hardware within U.S.-based data center environments. This role focuses on equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, firmware management, and close coordination with infrastructure teams to ensure stable and efficient operations.
The position is well suited for candidates with hands-on experience in hardware operations who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, on-site technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain the daily operation of mining hardware, performing routine inspections to identify potential issues with components such as hash boards, power supply units, control boards, and cooling systems.
Diagnose and respond to common operational issues, including hashrate fluctuations, system instability, overheating alerts, and hardware alarms.
Track and evaluate firmware updates released by equipment manufacturers; perform testing and validation prior to broader deployment.
Work closely with electrical, network, and infrastructure teams to provide practical recommendations that improve site efficiency, stability, and equipment performance.
Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for different hardware models to support consistent and efficient issue resolution.
Document operational issues, actions taken, and outcomes to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or equivalent hands-on experience in Electronics, Computer Hardware, Automation, or a related technical field.
At least 3 years of experience in hardware operations, equipment monitoring, or technical support roles involving large-scale hardware systems.
Strong understanding of hardware components, system behavior, and common failure patterns.
Comfortable performing firmware upgrades, system configuration, and basic performance optimization tasks.
Familiarity with Linux-based systems and command-line tools is a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, on-site operations environment.
Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and ability to respond calmly to operational issues.
Work Schedule & Location
This role is U.S.-based and primarily supports on-site data center operations.
Shift-based or on-call coverage may be required depending on operational needs.
