Position Summary
Athena is seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to join our Legal team. This role will work closely with the General Counsel to streamline legal operations, enhance contract management processes, and support key legal initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate has a strong background in financial services, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to work at the intersection of law, technology, and cryptocurrency.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with the Legal team to select, implement, and manage an organization-wide contract management tool.
Lead process improvement initiatives for the Legal function, ensuring efficiency and compliance across the company.
Project-manage high-priority legal initiatives from inception to completion.
Coordinate review and processing of non-disclosure agreements and other routine contracts.
Identify and escalate significant legal matters to the General Counsel in a timely manner.
Track, monitor, and report on federal and state legislative developments related to cryptocurrency, financial services, and consumer protection.
Provide research and operational support on regulatory, transactional, and dispute resolution matters as needed.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the General Counsel.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of paralegal experience.
Proven background in financial services.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work effectively with AI-based legal and business tools.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive financial services experience, with a strong interest in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency regulation.
Broad paralegal expertise spanning transactional, regulatory, and dispute resolution matters.
Strong legal research capabilities.
Paralegal certificate and/or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
