Senior Accountant Remote, Full Time

Location: We hire with a focus on Dubai and Europe. For this role, we prefer candidates who are either based in Dubai or working remotely within +/- 4 hours GST time.
As our Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the integrity of our financial data, ensuring that accounting across all entities and jurisdictions is accurate, timely, and compliant. You will be a hands-on professional, managing reconciliations and preparing financial statements for both our fiat and crypto transactions. You will work directly to support strategic decision-making by ensuring the company has access to reliable financial information.
You will also be an integral part of our team, playing a key role in audits and driving crucial process improvements. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting knowledge and a keen eye for detail. This role is a great fit for a meticulous professional who is ready to mentor junior colleagues and thrive in a fast-paced, international setting.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting updates, ensuring accurate reconciliations of fiat and crypto accounts
Maintain comprehensive documentation of financial transactions and controls to support the preparation of management accounts and financial statements
Coordinate with external auditors to prepare and execute year-end audits and respond to all requests to ensure compliance with IFRS and GAAP standards
Monitor cash balances and approve invoices and payments to ensure smooth operations
Implement and improve accounting policies and procedures, driving the automation of accounting workflows and reporting
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and support cross-functional collaboration
Engage in ad-hoc projects that require technical accounting expertise
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in accounting roles, ideally in international environments specifically UAE ways of working
Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and accounting policies
Proven track record of preparing reconciliations and financial reports
Audit preparation and external auditor coordination experience
Experience with VAT and corporate tax compliance support
Experience with consolidation of financial statements across various jurisdictions
Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Xero, SAP, Oracle) and Excel
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Team-oriented mindset with mentoring ability
Nice to haves:
Experience in fintech, blockchain, or technology-driven companies
Exposure to crypto/digital asset accounting
Experience working with Big Data
Knowledge of treasury operations and cash flow forecasting
Experience with ERP implementations or process automation
Hands-on experience with financial data analytics or BI tools
Experience within Big 10 accounting firms
