Investment Director(AI) Remote, Full Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Investment Director with a deep understanding of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) ecosystem to identify, assess, and manage investment opportunities in the rapidly evolving AI space. This role will involve analyzing emerging AI technologies, startups, and market trends, and leading investments in high-growth AI companies across various sectors.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AI, machine learning, and data science, combined with a solid track record in venture capital or private equity investing. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of AI through strategic investments and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Strategy & Research:
Conduct deep market research on AI technologies, emerging trends, and industry-specific applications (e.g., healthcare, fintech, autonomous systems, etc.).
Identify high-potential startups, companies, and investment opportunities in the AI space.
Lead and participate in the development of the firm’s investment strategy for AI-focused portfolios.
Due Diligence & Deal Sourcing:
Perform thorough due diligence on potential investments, including financial modeling, competitive analysis, and risk assessments.
Build and maintain a network of industry experts, AI thought leaders, and entrepreneurs to source investment opportunities.
Engage with founders, CEOs, and executives to assess business models, technology stacks, and market potential.
Investment Evaluation & Decision-Making:
Lead investment memos, presentations, and recommendations for internal approval.
Evaluate and recommend funding terms, structures, and potential exit strategies.
Provide strategic insight and advice on AI sector developments to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Portfolio Management:
Oversee the performance of AI investments and provide ongoing strategic support to portfolio companies.
Track AI market trends and assist portfolio companies in scaling their AI technologies and products.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with portfolio companies’ management teams, providing value-added insights and guidance.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting:
Present investment recommendations, market trends, and portfolio performance to senior leadership and investment committees.
Prepare detailed investment reports and presentations for investors and stakeholders.
Keep stakeholders informed about key market developments, AI innovations, and regulatory impacts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field. MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is a plus.
Deep understanding of AI ecosystems, emerging trends, and key industry players.
5+ years of experience in investment management, venture capital, private equity, or a similar role with a focus on AI or related sectors.
Proven track record of evaluating and executing investments in AI companies.
Strong technical background with hands-on experience in AI, including proficiency in areas such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or other AI subfields.
Experience evaluating technical talent or projects, with a proven ability to assess potential and capabilities.
Familiarity with Web3 and biotech sectors is a plus, especially in how AI intersects with these areas.
Excellent analytical skills and a strategic mindset to identify high-potential opportunities.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to distill complex ideas for diverse audiences.
Passion for technology and innovation, with a keen interest in advancing the AI ecosystem.
