Relai is Europe’s leading Bitcoin-only app and we’re looking for a Head of Technology to help us ship bug-free, high-quality features across mobile and backend.
You’ll leverage your deep technical expertise and leadership skills to support, mentor, and drive alignment within our engineering team. This role is ideal for a tech leader who thrives in dynamic startup environments and is eager to shape the future of Bitcoin at scale.
What You’ll Do
Lead, coach, and support the engineering team
Collaborate closely with the CTO to drive strategic technical initiatives and ensure alignment between engineering execution and company goals.
Translate product and business goals into scalable and efficient technical solutions
Ensure high-quality delivery, engineering performance, and reliability across the stack
Foster a high-performance, collaborative engineering culture
Collaborate closely with the Product team to plan, scope, and prioritize work
Help define and evolve our technical strategy as we scale
What You Bring
3+ years of experience in a tech leadership role (e.g. Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, Head of Engineering)
Proven background as a software engineer (you’ve been hands-on before, even if you’re not coding today)
Strong track record leading engineering teams in fast-paced startup environments
Solid understanding of backend systems, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and product engineering
Excellent communication and leadership skills – you lead by influence, not authority
Bonus: experience with Bitcoin, fintech, or trading systems
