Samsung and Coinbase Partner to Streamline Crypto Access for Mobile Users
Samsung and Coinbase have teamed up to integrate Samsung Pay into the Coinbase app, enabling millions of users in the U.S. and Canada to fund their cryptocurrency accounts seamlessly. Announced on July 29, this collaboration allows Samsung Wallet users to purchase digital assets directly within the Coinbase app without switching apps or re-entering payment details.
Effortless Crypto Transactions
Starting this week, Samsung Pay is rolling out as a payment and deposit option within the Coinbase app, the leading U.S. cryptocurrency exchange. Coinbase emphasized the simplicity: “With just a few taps, eligible users can fund their crypto journey using Samsung Pay, moving from interest to action without leaving the app.”
The rollout begins with select users in North America, with broader access expected soon. This integration combines Samsung’s trusted mobile wallet with Coinbase’s secure platform, making crypto purchases as intuitive as everyday mobile payments.
Samsung’s Vision for Collaboration
Drew Blackard, senior vice president of mobile product management at Samsung Electronics America, highlighted the partnership’s alignment with Samsung’s philosophy: “Through open collaboration with industry leaders like Coinbase, we’re delivering innovative experiences. This integration empowers users to explore crypto on a trusted platform, all from their mobile device.”
Security and Convenience
Samsung Wallet, backed by Samsung Knox, biometric authentication, tokenization, and an embedded secure element, ensures robust protection for sensitive data. This synergy with Coinbase’s secure platform offers users a seamless and safe way to engage with cryptocurrency.
